School Nurses: Our Modern Day Action Heroes

Posted by skhc on May 1st, 2008. Published in Health Room. 2 Comments »

Has it been a year already? Spring has sprung and National School Nurse Day is right around the corner. But, when you’re an action hero time flies. This year’s theme is “School Nurses in Action: Transforming School Communities” and School Kids Healthcare wants to personally thank all of you School Nurses, the action heroes in our communities.

National School Nurse Day was established over 35 years ago by the National Association of School Nurses in order to further educate the community on the importance and role of School Nurses. Like action heroes, School Nurses may not always be seen or recognized but their presence is always felt. School Nurses educate and care for our children with an open heart. When children are educated about the importance of health they’re more apt to make positive lifestyle choices, thus transforming school communities.

When it comes to health education our “modern day action heroes” are at the heart of the matter and will be honored and celebrated this National School Nurse Day, May 7, 2008.

Be one of the first three to share your story about being a School Nurse or how your school’s community celebrates National School Nurse Day and receive a $10 Starbucks gift card. That’s right, share your thoughts and experiences and have a latte on School Kids Healthcare.

Happy National School Nurse Day!

Sincerely,

School Kids Healthcare
